The Selig Polyscope Company, Inc., Chicago, Illinois           1909

Photographic letters, letterhead and billheads, such as this letter from The Selig Polyscope Company, not only display wonderful graphics and logos, but can often tell a small story or give insight into a company's operations.

In this case, a personal story being related on company stationery that says almost nothing about the firm.  But, it does reflect on the human experience, which really hasn't changed that much in more than a century.

Correspondence such as this is extremely scarce or rare today, given the farther back in time a company existed, that some companies were very short-lived and that these instruments were printed on paper that is lucky to have survived after so many years.
